Maru, the Drowned Herald | Dragonfly Wall Art

When the ritual basins of Skullwood finally ran dry, the Bone Smiths found Maru waiting beneath the silt. Four metal-like wings lay folded around a body of ridged plates, each surface marked with spirals, sealed eyes and the scars of impossible age. Old records named her the Drowned Herald: a messenger sent between the breathing world and whatever listened below still water. No surviving account reveals the message she carried. The smiths only warned that hanging her likeness was an invitation to answer. Since then, collectors have reported no voices, no omens and nothing unusual at all—except for the faint sense that Maru has been waiting far longer than they have.

Maru, the Drowned Herald is a 3D printed dragonfly wall sculpture filled with layered relief, ornamental wing patterns and weathered metallic colour.

Four broad wings spread from an elongated, segmented body, creating a balanced silhouette with substantial visual presence. Intricate spirals, eye-like motifs, leaf forms and geometric ridges cover almost every surface, while bronze, copper, tan and muted blue-grey tones give the piece the appearance of an ancient metal artefact touched by corrosion.

Materials and finish

Made from PLA using a multi-colour 3D printing process. The copper, bronze and oxidised tones describe the colour finish; the piece is not made from metal.

Each item is 3D printed with care. Fine layer lines and small colour variations are natural characteristics of the process, making every piece subtly unique.
