Prismatic Spine Wyrm | Articulated Dragon

The first Spine Wyrm was discovered curled around a shattered geode far beneath the old mountain roads. Its scales reflected colours that did not belong to any single gemstone, shifting from violet to green and blue whenever the torchlight moved. Unlike the great winged beasts of the upper world, this creature travelled close to the stone, twisting through narrow passages with armour raised along its back.

Guild records describe the wyrm as curious rather than tame. It would coil around tools, dice and unattended treasures, then remain perfectly still until someone tried to reclaim them. Those fortunate enough to carry one home soon learnt a simple rule: anything within reach may become part of its hoard.

About this piece

The Prismatic Spine Wyrm is a fully articulated 3D printed dragon with segmented joints, angular scales and a long, flexible body.

Its print-in-place construction allows the wyrm to bend, coil and rest in a variety of poses without separate assembly. The sharply sculpted head, clawed feet and layered dorsal spines give it the appearance of a small armoured beast, while its silk PLA finish shifts between green, purple and blue under different lighting and viewing angles.

Materials and finish

Made from silk PLA filament that shifts between green, purple and blue depending on the light, viewing angle and placement of the colour transitions.

Each item is 3D printed with care. Fine layer lines and small colour variations are natural characteristics of the process, making every piece subtly unique. The position of individual colours across the scales and spines may differ between prints.
