Every autumn, the old library placed three carved lanterns beside the restricted shelves. The first watched those entering, the second watched those leaving, and the third watched the books themselves. One year, the candles were removed—but the faces continued to glow whenever a forbidden chapter was opened nearby. The librarians sealed the lanterns inside a narrow black frame and returned them to the collection, where they remain stacked like patient harvest spirits. The Lantern Harvest now brings the same eerie warmth to ordinary bookshelves, turning the gap between novels into a tiny pumpkin crypt awaiting nightfall.

About this piece

The Lantern Harvest is a 3D printed Halloween book nook featuring three orange jack-o’-lanterns stacked vertically inside a slim black rectangular frame.

Each pumpkin has a different carved expression, with triangular eyes, angular mouths and rounded sculpted forms creating depth inside the narrow display. It is designed to sit between books as a compact seasonal shelf scene.
